A common question that is asked at these camps, and towards Collegiate and Goalkeeper Coaches, is "What is the most important thing that is required to reach the next level?". The answer is simple, "There is not 1 single thing!" Goalkeeping is an art, and what we aim to do through WISA camps is follow Wingate Men's Soccer Goalkeeper Coach, Sam Raper's, goalkeeper skill wheel on what each goalkeeper requires at Wingate in order to help guide the team towards the program's aim of winning ANOTHER National Championship. The Skill Wheel can be seen below, with 4 key areas of Technical, Tactical, Physical and Psycho-Social. Within each the elements that are closest to the middle are the ones that are perhaps seen more frequently within a goalkeeper's game, and then moving away from the middle comes the more advanced skill sets which encompass what it takes to perform at the highest level.
