Gary Hamill enters his 34th year as Head Coach of the Wingate University Men’s Soccer program, where he has established one of the most successful and respected programs in NCAA Division II history. With more than 400 career victories, Coach Hamill’s sustained excellence over three decades reflects a consistent standard of competitive achievement, player development, and institutional integrity.
Under his leadership, Wingate has captured eight South Atlantic Conference (SAC) championships and made multiple deep runs in the NCAA Tournament, including five Sweet 16 appearances, one Elite Eight appearance, and the 2016 NCAA Division II National Championship. His accomplishments have earned him eight SAC Coach of the Year honors, three Regional Coach of the Year recognitions (1993, 2012, 2016), and National Coach of the Year honors in 1993 and 2016.
Beyond team success, Coach Hamill has demonstrated an exceptional commitment to individual player development. His tenure has produced five Conference Players of the Year, four Conference Freshman of the Year, twelve All-Americans, forty-four All-Region selections, and ninety-seven All-Conference honorees. Several former student-athletes have continued into professional soccer careers, while others have distinguished themselves in graduate study and leadership roles beyond the game.
In recognition of his impact on the university and the broader soccer community, Coach Hamill was inducted into the Wingate University Hall of Fame in 2017. Multiple alumni from the men’s soccer program have also been inducted, underscoring the lasting legacy of the program under his guidance.
Coach Hamill’s influence extends beyond the collegiate level. He has been actively involved in youth soccer development, serving as a board member for Charlotte Soccer Academy and contributing as an Olympic Development Program (ODP) staff coach and instructor in both North and South Carolina. He holds a UEFA “A” License and an NSCAA Premier Diploma, reflecting his commitment to continued professional education and international coaching standards.

Harry Crosbee represents the continuity, culture, and competitive identity of the Wingate University men’s soccer program.
A former player for the Bulldogs, Harry’s journey with the program reflects a deep-rooted understanding of what it takes to develop, compete, and succeed within a high-performance collegiate environment. During his playing career, he contributed across multiple seasons, bringing leadership and consistency to the program before transitioning into coaching.
Now serving as Associate Head Coach, Harry plays a central role in shaping the program’s daily standards, recruiting strategy, and long-term player development. His work is grounded in a clear vision:
build competitors who can adapt, perform, and sustain success at the college level and beyond.
In addition to his role with the university, Harry is a key figure within the Wingate International Soccer Academy (WISA), where he serves as a Camp Director and leads the structure and execution of elite training environments. He is instrumental in connecting academy players with the realities of the college game, ensuring that every experience reflects the expectations of high-level soccer.

Aksel Juul
Assistant Coach

Aksel Juul brings a global perspective and a modern approach to player development within the Wingate environment.
Originally from the UK, Aksel’s football education is rooted in a culture that prioritizes tactical intelligence, technical precision, and a deep understanding of the game. His background reflects a system where detail, structure, and decision-making are central to performance—principles he now applies daily within the Wingate program.
As an Assistant Coach with Wingate Men’s Soccer, Aksel plays an important role in training design, player development, and the implementation of the program’s game model. His work focuses on creating environments where players are challenged to think, adapt, and execute at a high level under pressure.
Within the Wingate International Soccer Academy (WISA), Aksel contributes to the delivery of elite training experiences, helping bridge the gap between international methodologies and the demands of the American college game. His presence adds a different lens to player development, exposing athletes to diverse styles, expectations, and tactical concepts.

Pablo Jara
Director of Goalkeeping & Operations

Pablo Jara represents the standard and identity behind the goalkeeping philosophy at Wingate International Soccer Academy.
A native of Chile, Pablo developed within the elite environment of Colo-Colo, one of South America’s most historic and demanding clubs, where he spent over a decade immersed in a culture built on excellence, discipline, and winning.
He continued his journey in the United States at Wingate University, becoming a National Champion in 2016 and establishing himself within one of the top programs in the country. Following his collegiate career, Pablo competed professionally, gaining valuable experience within the American game and further refining his understanding of performance at the highest level.
Today, Pablo leads the Goalkeeping Department and oversees the operations of WISA, setting the standard for how goalkeepers are developed, evaluated, and prepared for the next level.
His work is defined by a clear philosophy:
