This extended program runs in coordination with our WISA Women's Showcase Camp.
Goalkeepers who sign up for this extended program come in three days before the WISA Women’s Adidas College Showcase in order to train and sharpen their skills prior to performing in front of college coaches during the Showcase. It also allows college coaches in attendance an opportunity to watch the goalkeepers training for a few days before everyone gets in to train and play. The sessions are focused on both the technical work and tactical decisions of the goalkeeper position. The extended program dates for 2020 are 9 – 12 July; on 12 July, the GKs will join the Showcase campers and continue until 16 July. Cost: $795 if you register by 1 March 2020. After 1 March 2020, the price will increase to $825 (Extended GK portion + Showcase).
A typical day at the extended program would look similar to the schedule below:

The WISA Extended Goalkeeper Showcase is designed for female high school goalkeepers entering their sophomore, junior, or senior year who have college-playing aspirations. Goalkeepers are invited to come in prior to the start of the WISA Women’s Adidas College Showcase to train with college goalkeeper coaches, giving them the opportunity to feel good and look sharp before having to work in front of the dozens of college coaches who will be in attendance at the Showcase. The goalkeepers will engage in a training environment specially tailored towards female goalkeepers, allowing them to show and hone their abilities with regards to technical excellence and tactical understanding of the game, as well as their physical capabilities and psycho-social skills.
All of these skills combine in the WISA Women's Adidas College Showcase to prepare players for the rigor of pre-season training and equip each player with the tools necessary to meet the expectations of college coaches in game situations. Wingate's goalkeeper coaches work alongside a number of other highly-skilled, qualified, and experienced goalkeeper coaches to provide continuous on-the-field supervision and training. In previous years, the goalkeepers who attended the WISA Extended Goalkeeper Showcase looked sharper with their footwork and handling and looked more comfortable on the ball than those who just came in for the WISA Women's Adidas College Showcase. Unlike at other camps, goalkeepers are assigned to teams in the afternoon and evenings and play in full-sided 11v11 games. This allows them to showcase their talents to all of the college coaches on site in game situations, not just drills.
